Wishing You A Very Happy Teej Festival

 Teej Teej Teej Teej Teej

The mother goddess, or the female energy, is also worshipped under the usual name of Parvati or Gauri.. One festival celebrated in Her name is called Gauri Tij, which falls on the third day of the waning moon, in the month of Vesakh. It is the first day according to the Sindhi calender of the second month of the year. On this day, married women worship Mahadev and Parvati in the early morning and then observe fast for the whole day.

TEEJRI

This takes place in the month of Shrawan, when married girls and women paint their hands and feet with Mehndi, go on a fast for the whole day, during which they play games, swing in Jhulas and sing lovable songs. In the night after making an offering to the moon, they break the fast.

The sindhi ladies’s observe Teejri for the well being of their husbands. This falls on the third day of the moonlit fortnight of the month of sravan. On the eve of this day, women apply mehendi on their hands. They wake before sunrise and eat something(Asur) . From then on they are not allowed to drink even water untill they have prayed to Teejri mata. Green gram is sprouted in a plate or obtained from a pandit and swaying of the teejri is done saying the following:-
TERI MERI GOWRI HIDONRAYMEH LODIYAH, BAMANIKI GOWRI HIDONRAYMEH LODIYAH,RANI PUJEH RAJAHSAH , AISAH PUJUE SUHAAGA BHAAGAH SAH.DUDHTEH PUTAH LAXMEIYA KEH X 3
A mixture of sugar and water is poured into the sprouted beans and the ladies drink a little of this mixture. From then on, they are allowed to drink water. In the evening after sunset a puja is done again and the pandit or his wife’s tells of the significance of this fast. Following this puja, they stop drinking water again till the sighting of the moon. Prasad is then distributed and the fast broken.
It is easy to regard this as a chauvinistic attitude emphasizing the importance of the husband. After all few pujas are done by husbands for the well being of their wives!
However, it is essential to look beyond the obvious. While the husband’s well being is considered central to the happiness of the family, it is the wife who plays the critical role behind the scenes, caring, nurturing and praying for them. These rituals recognize the strength of the woman and her inner commitment to family and happines

The Best Lession Of Life

The true significance of Raksha Bandhan

The true significance of

Raksha Bandhan

The Festival of Rakhi has a special place in the hearts of all sisters and brothers, because on this day, theyreinstate the commitment to their pure relationship. But does it hold the same richness that it began with? Do we know why it started or has it become ‘just one of those things we Indians do’? We know the literal meaning of Rakshabandhan – the bondage of protection and as per tradition, sisters apply  ‘tilak’ on the forehead of their brothers, tie a colourfully decorated “rakhi’ or thread on their brother’s wrist, and offer sweets as a token of their love. In return, the brother vows to protect his sister under all circumstances and of course, gives his sister ‘kharchi’ or a gift.
But do we stop to wonder what happens if the brother is younger than the sister or if both of them live miles apart, or what if a girl does not have any brothers? Do only females need protection? Are their brothers immune to sorrow and problems? This is not an attempt to make a mockery of our auspicious festival, but is it celebrated with the correct attitude? Today, it seems to be more commercialized – what with all the different sizes and designs of Rakhis and the greeting cards that we find in the stores. All of our Indian festivals have a reason behind them; all we need to do is use our intellect to appreciate our rich culture.
Raksha bandhan is the festival of brother and sister,  of strong feeling of love and care between them;tied with the sheer thread of silk. Celebrate the festivity and send this page to your brother or sister to show your affection, to say them you care.

Raksha bandhan has a much deeper spiritual explanation. It is a reminder that as souls, we are children of the One Supreme Soul, our Spiritual  Father. Its true significance lies in portraying the viceless and pure love between brother and sister.

tilak’ is a symbol of awakening one’s awareness of “Soul-conciousness” – i.e.  realization of being a Soul, or divine light energy,  and NOT the physical body.  It is also a sign of being victorious.  Victory here signifies overpowering man’s greatest enemy  -  the VICES of anger, sex-lust, greed, attachment , ego…… Tying a  “rakhi” is a symbol of a bond of chastity or purity in thought, word and deed.  We face difficulties when we come under the influence of the vices and commit wrong actions. No action goes fruitless – good or bad, we will face the consequences. So, when we make a pledge to God - that we will not allow our thoughts, words or our deeds to be ruled by the vices  - God bestows on us Divine wisdom, becomes our true protector and liberator, and showers us with unlimited peace and happiness! Under His canopy of protection, we can be truly safe.

Sweetening of the mouth is symbolic of the victory we will feel when we overcome the vices. God does not ask us for money or elaborate gifts – all He asks is that we give up the vices that are deeply hidden in the ‘pockets of the souls.’ We have to earn our happiness and security – we do not need to be dependent on anyone.

At the present time, fear is one the biggest diseases spreading in our world. By staying in soul-consciousness and re-affirming our vow to God, the Almighty, we can bring about a world of purity, peace and prosperity! This is how to truly celebrate Rakshabandhan.

This is the next best thing to celebrate rakhi together personally

The Plan Of The Lord...

The Plan Of The Lord.....

Really Nice...Do read...!!
Once there was a sweeper in the Well Known temple and he was very sincere and devoted. Every time he saw thousands of devotees coming to take darshan of the Lord, he thought that the Lord is standing all the time and giving darshan and He must be feeling very tired. So one day very innocently he asked the Lord whether he can take the place of the Lord for a day so that the Lord can have some relief and rest. The Deity of Temple replied, "I do not mind taking a break. I will transform you like Myself, but you must do one thing. You must just stand here like Me, smile at everyone and just give benedictions. Do not interfere with anything and do not say anything. Remember you are the deity and you just have faith that I have a master plan for everything." The sweeper agreed to this. The next day the sweeper took the position of the deity and a rich man came and prayed to the Lord. He offered a nice donation and prayed that his business should be prosperous. While going, the rich man inadvertently left his wallet full of money right there. Now the sweeper in the form of deity could not call him and so he decided to control himself and keep quiet. Just then a poor man came and he put one coin in the Hundi and said that it was all he could afford and he prayed to the Lord that he should continue to be engaged in the Lord's service. He also said that his family was in dire need of some basic needs but he left it to the good hands of the Lord to give some solution. When he opened his eyes, he saw the wallet left by the rich man. The poor man thanked the Lord for His kindness and took the wallet very innocently. The sweeper in the form of the Deity could not say anything and he had to just keep smiling. At that point a sailor walked in. He prayed for his safe journey as he was going on a long trip. Just then the rich man came with the police and said that somebody has stolen his wallet and seeing the sailor there, he asked the police to arrest him thinking that he might have taken it. Now the sweeper in the form of Deity wanted to say that the sailor is not the thief and he could not say and he was greatly frustrated. The sailor looked at the Lord and asked why he an innocent person is being punished. The rich man looked at the Lord and thanked Him for finding the thief. The sweeper in the deity form could no more tolerate and he thought that even if the real Lord had been here, he would have definitely interfered and hence he started speaking and said that the sailor is not the thief but it was the poor man who took away the wallet. The rich man was very thankful as also the sailor. In the night, the real Lord came and He asked the sweeper how the day was. The sweeper said, "I thought it would be easy, but now I know that Your days are not easy, but I did one good thing." Then he explained the whole episode to the Lord. The Lord became very upset on hearing this whereas the sweeper thought the Lord would appreciate him for the good deed done. The Lord asked, "Why did you not just stick to the plan? You had no faith in Me. Do you think that I do not understand the hearts of all those who come here? All the donation which the rich man gave was all stolen money and it is only a fraction of what he really has and he wants Me to reciprocate unlimitedly. The single coin offered by the poor man was the last coin he was having and he gave it to Me out of faith. The sailor might not have done anything wrong, but if the sailor were to go in the ship that night he was about to die because of bad weather and instead if he is arrested he would be in the jail and he would have been saved form a greater calamity. The wallet should go to the poor man because he will use it in My service. I was going to reduce the rich man's karma also by doing this and save the sailor also. But you cancelled everything because you thought you know My plan and you made your own plans." God has plans and justice for everyone..

..we just have to have patience!!!!!

Be nice and smile to everyone you meet. You don't know what they are going through, and they may need that smile, and treasure it.
Friend MeaninG

 Friendship – A Bond of Love – A Magic
A bond of love,

A medal of trust.
A shoulder in sadness,

A hand in darkness.

A special relation to hold,
An ear where secrets can be

told.

An appreciator for

encouragement,

Something that doesn’t cost.

A jewel never to be lost.

Is the magic called

F R I E N D

A friend is someone we turn to
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives
with beauty, joy, and grace.
And makes the whole world we live in
a better and happier place.

ANDFriendship is a priceless gift,
that cannot be bought or sold.
But it's value is far greater
than a mountain made of gold.

For gold is cold and lifeless,
it can neither see nor hear.
And in a time of trouble,
it is powerless to cheer.

It has no ears to listen,
no heart to understand.
It cannot bring you comfort,
or reach out a helping hand.
So when you ask God for a gift,
be thankful if he sends...
Not diamonds, pearls or riches,
but the love of real true friends.

WISH YOU A HAPPY

FRIENDSHIP DAY

Happiness

Happiness

This story is about a beautiful, expensively dressed lady who complained to her psychiatrist that she felt that her whole life was empty, it had no meaning.

So, the lady went to visit a counselor to seek out happiness.

The counselor called over the old lady who cleaned the office floors.

The counselor then said to the rich lady "I'm going to ask Mary here to tell u how she found happiness. All I want u to do is listen to her."

So the old lady put down her broom and sat on a chair and told her story:

"Well, my husband died of malaria and three months later my only son was killed by a car. I had nobody. I had nothing left. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat, I never smiled at anyone, I even thought of taking my own life. Then one evening a little kitten followed me home from work. Somehow I felt sorry for that kitten. It was cold outside, so I decided to let the kitten in. I got some milk, and the kitten licked the plate clean. Then it purred and rubbed against my leg and, for the first time in months, I smiled.

Then I stopped to think, if helping a little kitten could make me smile, may be doing something for people could make me happy.

So, the next day I baked some biscuits and took them to a neighbor who was sick in bed.

Every day I tried to do something nice for someone. It made me so happy to see them happy.

Today, I don't know of anybody who sleeps and eats better than I do.
I've found happiness, by giving it to others."

When she heard this, the rich lady cried. She had everything that money could buy, but she had lost the things which money cannot buy.

"The beauty of life does not depend on how happy you are; but on how happy others can be because of you..."

Happiness is not a destination, it's a journey.

Happiness is not tomorrow, it is now.

Happiness is not dependency, it is a decision.

Happiness is what you are, not what you have..
