Basant Panchami or Basant panchmi festival date is on Saterday 24th JAN2015. The government has declared Saraswati Puja is a state holiday in Kolkata, Bengal. Basant panchmi is also called Shree Panchchami is a Hindu festival celebrating Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, music and art.It is celebrated every year on the fifth day of the Indian month Magh (January-February), the first day of spring.In Allahabad, millions of devotees took their holy dip in the River Ganga River. The fourth bathing festival of Magh Mela is an important part of “Basant Panchami”.The people will waer yellow colour clothes on this day. A deity of Goddess Saraswati decorated with mustard, sunflower and other yellow blooms. Yellow sweets are consumed within the families. Baasant Panchami is believed that on this day, Goddess Saraswati was born.May Maa bless you to gain the highest knowledge and wisdom and help you succeed in all your endeavors.
Throughout India, Saraswati Puja is celebrated with great reverence in schools, colleges, institutions of music, arts and science, as well as at homes. It is believed that Goddess Saraswati endows human beings with the powers of speech, wisdom and learning.
