Good Morning

Good Morning

' You are not your 'story.' '

Who You Are is so much bigger than that. It's okay to give up your past now.

Most of us have a story about how we got to be the way we are, about what it's like to be 'us,' and about why it is so difficult sometimes to get through life. All of this is stuff that has nothing to do with who we are now.

How often do you 'come from' your 'story' when you experience life? Are you ready to let go of that now?

What if you could create 'you' the way you want to be, rather than the way you think you are? Wouldn't that be great? Well, you can. All you have to do is let go of your story

Ten cancer preventing Lifestyle Changes Tips one MUST follow are,=HEALTH=

Ten cancer preventing Lifestyle Changes Tips one MUST follow are,

1. Avoid smoking or even exposure to second-hand smoke: One can cut down the risk of cancer on quitting smoking. Smoking is not only responsible for lung cancer but many other types of cancers as well. Quit smoking or never start again! Not exposing yourself to second–hand smoke or doing passive smoking is equally important in preventing against cancer. Even this smoke is known to contain more than 60 odd carcinogens (cancer causing agents).

2. Observe sun safety: Skin cancer is one of the most easily preventable cancers. Simply by using a high SPF sunscreen throughout the day is good enough to reduce your risk of skin cancer. Avoid exposure to UV rays as much as possible, especially the mid-day sun and wear protective clothing when outdoors.

3. Eat lot of fruits and veggies: A well balanced diet which includes lots of fresh and raw red-orange fruits and vegetables also helps in reducing the risk of developing cancer. Most of fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants, which help repair damaged cells and fights cancer.

4. Limit eating red meat: A diet high in animal fat increases the risk for several types of cancer, especially colon cancer. Red meat has a higher fat content as opposed to poultry or fish. A fat rich diet also causes obesity, which is also one of the causative reasons for some cancers.

5. Think before you drink: Drinking not only badly affects the liver but also can cause cancer. Cut down on the number of drinks per week.

6. Exercise: Exercising helps in keeping fit and reduces the risk of various cancers. Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day; 5 days a week is a must for every individual. It not only burns away extra calories but also boosts a person’s morale as it releases endorphins, the “feel good hormone.”

7. Know your family history: A number of cancers are hereditary in nature, which means they get passed on within a family. Knowing the family history can help in preventing and diagnosing cancers in their early stages. Genetic testing and counseling are good options that are available today.

8. Know your risk factors at work: Certain chemicals are carcinogenic in nature. Constant exposure to these chemicals can increase the risk of developing cancer. Fumes, chemicals like diesel exhaust, vinyl chloride, arsenic, beryllium, nickel chromates, coal products, mustard gas, and chloromethyl ethers are all different types of carcinogens and can be found in some work places. Exposure to any of these chemicals requires frequent and regular visits to the doctor to make sure they are not affecting the health badly.

9. Practice safe sex: Unsafe sex can result in the infection of the human papilloma virus (HPV), which causes cervical cancer. HPV is a common sexually transmitted infection, which spreads through sexual contact. Using a condom every time for a sexual contact is the easiest way to get protection from cervical cancer.

10. Get preventive health ups: Screening for cancers by regular preventive health checkups is the easiest way of catching the cancers early. Screening tests like a colonoscopy, mammogram and Pap smear can detect abnormal cellular changes before they turn cancerous. Other tests like digital rectal exam or a PSA test can help in detecting prostate cancer early.

Remember, cancer like so many other diseases is extremely preventable. All you have to do is to make the right choices!!
